Long term client, Pilot Group approached Barlows EV to install five new PG EVC units at Manchester International Office Centre. MIOC is a well-known iconic office building that spans 100,000 square feet and offers high-quality space ranging from 450 to 8,000 square feet. The reception and common spaces have recently been completely refurbished, and the structure has undergone a comprehensive internal change. A new exercise centre, cycle lockers, business lounge, changing facilities, and showers are also available to tenants.

MIOC wanted to install more charge points at their office, giving guests the ability to charge their electric cars adding to the excellent amenities already available. They required a sleek charge point to compliment the existing building and added ten new charging bays for their current and future occupiers. To make the user experience as smooth and simple as feasible, the charge points needed to have an integrated payment terminal so EV drivers could pay for their charging sessions using contact/contactless and swipe using a credit/debit card as well as an e-wallet.

Pilot Group specified the PG Classic Double a commercial/workplace charge point that met all of MIOC's requirements. The classic double has two charging sockets and can be wall-mounted or post mounted to give it versatility during installations. The units also included integrated payment terminals so EV drivers can pay for charging sessions with contact/contactless and swipe using a credit/debit card as well as e-wallet to make the user experience as easy and simple as possible – just tap and go.

As well as the integrated payment terminal, the high-tech charge point boasts many amazing features including:

  • Charging status LED
  • Remotely adjustable power output
  • Built in Type A - EV RCD
  • Internal MID meter optional
  • Charge point management system
