One of UK and Europe's leading articulated HGV semi-trailer and rigid truck bodywork manufacturers, Tiger Trailers approached Barlows EV looking for a new solution to upgrade their current Electric Vehicle Charging Points. Tiger Trailers provide a complete service for the road transport industry, 3PL customers, haulage, warehousing and logistics companies and other end users, from design to manufacture. Their state-of-the art facility handles everything from trailer chassis manufacturing through body assembly and finish paint.
Tiger Trailers wanted to upgrade their present system and add extra charging stations to their Winsford Office, allowing staff members to charge their electric vehicles. They needed sleek, visually sound charging outlets, installed in their 8 additional charging bays. All the specified units needed to be OCPP ready in case future payment software was needed, as well as being RFID ready to prevent unauthorised usage.
Barlows EV specified the 7kW Project EV Dual Chargers, a single-phase dual AC charging unit. The twin gun unit is ideal for both personal and commercial usage. Along with the 7kW units, Tiger Trailers also required rapid charge capabilities. For this, we proposed 2x Project EV 40kW DC chargers which were the perfect solution. This is a commercial DC charging machine with three phases. The perfect unit for commercial, rapid charging thanks to it's high power and load balancing functionalities for larger-scale charging across numerous vehicles.
Our project for Tiger Trailers included:
- Remove existing EVC and dispose
- Install 5x concrete base for new EVC's
- Supply and install 4x 7kW Project EV Dual Chargers
- Supply and install 2x 40kW Project EV DC Pedestal Mounted Charger
- Install 2x new 63 amp 3 pole circuits
- Install 1x new 63 amp single phase circuit
- Install condudisc earthing system
